Injectables Q & A

What are injectables?

Injectables are substances the Medical Aesthetics & Laser team can deliver into your skin through a needle to address skin and volume concerns. During your initial visit, the team performs a thorough facial assessment to recommend the appropriate injectable for you.

Most injectables require little-to-no downtime, so you can resume your normal activities immediately after you visit the medical spa.

What are the different types of injectables?

Medical Aesthetics & Laser offers several types of injectables, including:

Botox interferes with the nerve signals between your brain and muscles. When injected into a specific muscle, Botox causes it to relax. This prevents the skin on top of the muscle from creasing and new wrinkle formation. Soon the skin appears smoother and more youthful.

At Medical Aesthetics & Laser, the team uses Botox to smooth wrinkles for 3-6 months*.

Dermal fillers

Dermal fillers are gel-like substances that restore lost volume. Unlike Botox, which treat expression lines, fillers plump areas of the skin experiencing volume loss, like the nasolabial folds. They can also enhance the lips, contour the cheekbones, and fill in deep acne scars.

The team is proud to offer a variety of dermal fillers, including Juvederm XC®, Juvederm Volbella XC®, Juvederm Vollure XC®, Juvederm Voluma XC®, and Radiesse

Each of these fillers contains hyaluronic acid to plump and moisturize the skin, but only Radiesse continues to stimulate collagen over time. Fillers provide instant results, which can last for up to 12 months*.

Kybella is a form of injectable deoxycholic acid that destroys fat cells. The treatment is FDA-approved to reduce submental fat beneath the chin. Most patients need at least two Kybella injections to see noticeable results. You may see visible fat loss after 12 weeks and peak results within six months*.

Organicell™ Factor X

Organicell Factor X which contains more than 50 billion exosomes — growth factors — help to rejuvenate your skin by speeding up the regenerative process within deep layers of the skin. Factor X is processed according to regulations established by the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB), and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections

PRP injections promote tissue healing and have both medical and aesthetic uses. PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is a substance that contains the liquid part of your blood (plasma) with a higher-than-usual concentration of platelets.

Platelets contain growth factors, which form part of your body's natural response to injury. When you suffer any kind of tissue damage, platelets initially clot your blood to seal any wound, then begin the healing process.

To obtain PRP for your injections, the Medical Aesthetics & Laser team draws some of your blood and places it in a centrifuge. This device spins at high speed, separating the different components of your blood. Your provider then harvests the plasma and injects them back into your skin to heal it.

How often can I get injectables?

Cosmetic injectables, like Botox and dermal fillers, are safe for repeated use. Visiting Medical Aesthetics & Laser for Botox 3-4 times a year and dermal fillers once or twice can help you maintain youthful skin as you age. Combining injectables with other aesthetic solutions, such as laser treatments, chemical peels, and facials can enhance your results.
