Give yourself a lift
Hyaluronic acid is a substance found in your skin. Along with collagen, it acts as the body’s natural volumizer, cushioning skin cells and helping them retain moisture. As we age, our body’s stores of hyaluronic acid are gradually depleted and production of collagen slows, leaving skin flattened, dull, saggy, and wrinkled. If you’re looking for a non-surgical way these concerns, or if you’d like to sculpt and contour your cheeks, chin, or lips, our dermal fillers in The Woodlands may be your solution.
The experienced injectors at Medical Aesthetics & Laser offer a range of filler products to ensure we adequately address your concerns: Juvederm® XC, Juvederm Volbella® XC, Juvederm Vollure XC, Juvederm Voluma™ XC, and Radiesse®. We use Juvederm products to plump and fill wrinkles and lines around the mouth, nose, eyes; in addition to plumping lips and lifting cheeks and chins. Radiesse is a thicker product that offers nonsurgical implant effects – augmenting cheeks, noses, and chins along with treating aged hands and stimulating collagen production.

How it Works
At Medical Aesthetics & Laser, we offer several types of dermal fillers in The Woodlands to address a range of our clients’ concerns. We utilize three products in the JUVÉDERM® family, along with Radiesse® fillers.
This dermal filler uses hyaluronic acid to instantly smooth away moderate to severe lines around your mouth and nose. Juvederm XC replaces the hyaluronic acid your skin has lost over time to smooth smile lines and vertical lip lines, bringing back youthfulness and volume to your face.
An injectable filler for the lip area, Juvederm Volbella provides amazing improvement in the lip contour, boosting volume, smoothing vertical creases (smoker’s lines), and achieving symmetry. Volbella is a wonderful filler for creating natural-looking lip volume, avoiding an overfilled or “swollen” look.
JUVÉDERM VOLLURE™ XC
Juvéderm Vollure XC is injected into the areas of facial tissue where moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds occur, including the “parentheses lines” around the nose and mouth.
Juvederm Voluma is an FDA-approved injectable hyaluronic acid gel that instantly adds volume to the cheek area thank to its thicker texture. Use Voluma to correct age-related loss of volume and lift and chisel your cheekbones, along with lifting the chin and jowls.
Think of Radiesse as a filler with an extra anti-aging kick. This injectable filler adds volume and fills in lines, folds, and wrinkles while also stimulating your body’s own production of collagen to provide results that continue to improve for a year or more after your injection.
Before your appointment for dermal fillers in The Woodlands, you should:
- Avoid all blood-thinning medications and supplements for at least a week before your appointment. This includes aspirin, ibuprofen, Aleve, garlic supplements, Vitamin E, St. John’s Wort, and omega-3 or fish oil capsules. As always, if you are taking any of these medications under direction of a doctor, speak to him or her before discontinuing use.
- Inform us if you have a history of cold sores or Perioral Herpes before your appointment.
- Stop using topical skin products that contain retinol, glycolic acid, alpha-hydroxy acid, or “anti-aging” products at least 2 days before (and after) your fillers are injected.
- Avoid alcohol in the 24 hours before your appointment.
Following your dermal filler injections in The Woodlands, make sure you:
- Avoid touching or massaging the injection site(s) unless instructed by your specialist.
- Avoid strenuous activity for 24 hours.
- Avoid direct sun exposure or excessive heat for 72 hours.
- Avoid alcohol and excess salt to prevent swelling.
- If you have swelling, use a cool compress.

- Wait a minimum of four weeks before having any other skin care or laser treatments.
Recently, at my annual appointment with the dermatologist, I was so very impressed and pleased. The Dr. commented on how great I was taking care of my skin. He had no idea that Allison and Kelli were taking care of my skin; I was just following their instructions with the regime they had advised! There are no professionals, or places, that I could more highly recommend than Allison and Kelli at Medical Aesthetics and Laser. My intent here is to pay it forward, just as my friend did, by her recommendation of Allison to me.
I have been going to Angela at Medical Aesthetics and Laser for over a year. Angela is extremely competent and thorough in delivering excellent customer service. She is also knowledgeable in what treatments are needed to get the best results for a beautiful and younger appearance. I am very pleased with my results and highly recommend Angela at Medical Aesthetics and Laser. I would never go anywhere else.
Medical Aesthetics and Laser is wonderful. Since they are associated with a physician’s office they have a fantastic array of product and service choices. Kelli's knowledge and professionalism is unsurpassed. The office staff is welcoming and courteous- always giving each client the time that is needed.
Botox uses a neurotoxin to temporarily relax muscles that contribute to the creation of dynamic wrinkles (caused by facial movements). The ingredients in dermal fillers are used to physically fill in and plump wrinkles, hollows, and other areas that lack volume from below. Fillers last a little longer than Botox and results are seen immediately rather than in several days following the injection.
Since hyaluronic acid is a substance already found in your skin cells, it will eventually be naturally broken down and reabsorbed by your body over time. If you are not satisfied with the results of your fillers, we can also dissolve the hyaluronic acid with hyaluronidase. Juvederm results can be seen for approximately 12-18 months after injection while the collagen stimulating results of Radiesse injections can be seen longer, for up to 36 months.
There are several factors that affect the cost of your dermal fillers in The Woodlands. The type of filler used, plus how much we are using and how many injection sites there are will affect the cost. Your Medical Aesthetics & Laser specialist will create a treatment plan that is best suited for meeting your goals and we will provide an exact cost during your free consultation.
Many fillers are pre-mixed with lidocaine to minimize discomfort. Additionally, we can use topical anesthetics to help keep you relaxed and comfortable during the procedure. Most patients report feeling a light pinching. Post-injection swelling is common and should diminish within 24 hours. We will provide you with an ice pack to help calm this reaction.
If you have any sensitivities to the products in the fillers or are allergic to the metal in the needles, you should not undergo this procedure. Additionally if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you are currently experiencing a viral, fungal, or bacterial infection anywhere near the injection site you should wait to have facial injections.
